Chandrashekhar Azad, a great revolutionary and patriot, was involved in Kakori Train Robbery (1926), the attempt to blow up the Viceroy's train and shooting of Saunders at Lahore (1928). He was the mentor of Bhagat Singh and many revolutionaries. He had named himself Azad (a free man) and had promised himself that he would die as a free man.
