Sir Syed Ahmed Khan

(17 October 1817 - 27 March 1898)
Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, born at Delhi, was a Muslim educator, jurist and author. He was founder and Principal of the Anglo-Mohammedan Oriental College (now known as Aligarh Muslim University) at Aligarh, UP, India. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was the motivating force behind spread of education in Muslim community in India in the late 19th century.
